Here’s a snapshot of the soundboard which is nearing it’s final form and the mandolin back cut to shape and ready for carving.

Beginning work on the new Corvo model. This guitar will replace the more traditional OM model that I’ve been making in past years. Dimensions will be roughly the same but the body shape and appointm
ents will be more along the lines of the Corneille. The first Corvo will be a 12 string for my good friend and fellow luthier Saul Koll.

After a couple of hectic but fun weeks of travel, it’s good to be back in the shop. Right now all sights are set on the Healdsburg Guitar Festival in August. Plans are to unveil a new mandolin model, a slothead version of the Alavanca as well as a new guitar model that will be a bit bigger than the Corneille. Should be lots of fun. Hope to see you all there!

My good friend Jon Lee of Walden guitars brought a couple of his co-workers by the shop last night. Jaco and Eddy are visiting from Taiwan for the Winter NAMM show and are spending a little extra time exploring Portland with Jon. We had a good time chatting about the guitar biz and enjoying some single malt Scotch!
